Fences & Gates

A wide range of fence designs can be built using cedar lumber and powder-coated hog wire. If you have a design in mind that isn’t shown in the photos below, I can likely build it. A variety of metal post options can be used—and concealed—to provide a longer-lasting structure while maintaining the look of a traditional wood fence. Even pressure treated lumber has a limited life when used below grade, so I prefer to avoid putting wood 4x4s into the ground whenever possible.

Both swinging and rolling gates are available in a variety of designs. Swinging gates can be designed to be supported at both ends, when open and closed, which reduces stress on hinges and helps prevent sagging over time.

To protect and extend the life of cedar fences and gates, staining after construction is a good idea. This helps preserve the wood’s natural color and adds durability against weather and extends the life of your fence/gate.
